We learn in our classroom, outside and in the Oasis. We have a special area outside as we love being outdoors and have our own waterproofs so we can go outside in any weather. One of our favourite activities is ‘wild time’ in the Wild Area.
Welcome to Wheal Harmony!
Welcome to Year 1 and Year 2
Wheal Harmony is home to the children in Years 1 and 2. The class is run by class teacher Ms Fiona Shuttleworth, Mrs Evison and supported by teaching assistants Mrs Lisa Russell, Mrs Wilkins and Mrs Keveren.
In Harmony we want learning to be fun. We learn through making, playing, drawing, writing, acting, investigating and lots and lots of talking. We all work hard to be the best that we can be. Trying our best is everything. If we are struggling we say we can’t do it YET but we keep on trying. We don’t worry about making mistakes because we know that means we are learning something new. It is just as well as Ms Shuttleworth often gets things wrong if she hasn’t eaten her Weetabix!
During Summer 1 our Year 1 children are going to be 'Beach Warriors'. They will be exploring our coast line looking at history, meeting smugglers, learning about safety with the RNLI and exploring rock pool habitats.
Its the turn of our Year 2 children in Summer 2 to become 'farm warriors' visiting a variety of farms looking at biodiveristy, growing of different crops, dairy and cider farming.
We will be sending home more details soon.
We use spelling shed to support learning in spelling. Please check the guide below if you have any questions.
